Denver's five best dinners under $10
This city has many eateries where you can get stuffed for the price of a movie ticket, but a few really stand out. In fact, some of our favorite restaurants also happen to be those that serve up the most inexpensive meals in town. The very best of all is Pho Duy, which won our Best Dinner Under $10 in the Best of Denver 2011. Its brimming bowls of pho are so large, you could almost feed two people for $10 there.

Here are four more places where at least one person can enjoy a great meal for under ten bucks:
Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs landed our Best Specialty Hot Dog award for the fat sausages hawked from a handful of carts, but two weeks ago he also opened a brick-and-mortar establishment that's quickly become a mainstay when we're looking for a cheap dinner downtown. About half of the dogs at this place, which come piled high with caramelized onions and decorated with a ribbon of cream cheese, are $6 -- that's for such exotic sausages as boar, elk and veal -- which means you'll have cash left over for fried macaroni and cheese or an alcoholic beverage.
Thai Flavor won our Best Thai Restaurant award, largely for its curry: bowls of creamy coconut milk -- tinged orange, red or green with homegrown chile peppers -- used as the base for tender hunks of meat or firm tofu and crisp vegetables. The fiery dish, which comes with a massive basket of rice, seems practically bottomless -- and costs just $7.95.
If you're starving and looking to feast, best head to a buffet. Our favorite in the city might be Guadalajara Mexican Buffet, our pick for Best Mexican Buffet. For just $9.99, you can feast on menudo, soft or crispy chile rellenos, barbacoa, carnitas, beef cheeks, tacos and taquitos, two different kinds of green chile, posole and flan (and much, much more) until you burst. Or just get yourself a couple of pig snout tacos, one of our 100 favorite dishes, and pair them with a Mexican beer.
Just two things on the menu at Providence Tavern, a board filled with comfort-food favorites, climb above $10 (the meatloaf and chicken pasta each cost $10.95). And if you stick to a $4.95 burger -- cooked a juicy medium rare and topped with cheddar-- you'll still have enough of your hard-earned Alexander Hamilton for a beer.
