In search of a taste of Spain at the 9th Door.
A couple of weeks back, I was feeling particularly nostalgic for the Iberian peninsula, where I once wandered winding streets, ambling from tapas bar to tapas bar until I'd eaten enough to make a full dinner. It was a perfect way to dine -- and a perfect way to taste the flavors that comprise the Spanish canon.

So I started exploring Denver's Spanish restaurants -- which took me to the 9th Door.

The restaurant, which opened six years ago in the heart of LoDo, took its inspiration from the tapas bar concept, offering a board of hot and cold tapas. At the bar one night, tucked away at a table in the corner another, I ate my way through the list, building feasts of small plates that I washed down with carafes of sangria.

Did I find the taste of Spain I hungered for? Find out tomorrow when the review is posted here.

If you're in Spain again, visit the Ohla Hotel in Barcelona. They will take care of your gastronomic and alcoholic needs quite thoroughly. Here's some video of their award winning bartender (he competed against Bitter Bar's Mark Stoddard in New Zealand for example) in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v....
