Oskar Blues, the Longmont brewery that inspired the canned craft beer craze, has canceled its 2011 version of Burning Can, a festival it kicked off last summer.

The fest, which debuted in Lyons in 2010, was going to be held in Longmont on June 18 and feature around 100 flavors from 25 brewers, all of whom can their beers. There was also going to be food, live music and a cruiser ride.

"We had logistical issues," says Oskar Blues spokesman Chad Melis. "We felt like we needed to focus on it for longer than we had, to really be able to do something of the caliber that people have come to expect from Oskar Blues."

Melis says the fest will return in 2012.
