Row 14 debuts Taco Tuesday tonight

Row 14 debuts Taco Tuesday in its elegant Spire spot.

Along with all the usual suspects offering Tuesday night taco deals in this town, you can add a less conventional spot: Row 14 just announced Taco Tuesdays, when it will add a board of tortilla-wrapped meats and salsas to its usual list of charcuterie, brandade fritters and duck crepes.

Of course, there's a twist.

When they opened their restaurant in the Spire in March, restaurateurs David Schneider and Arik Markus envisioned a global list of seasonal food, peppered with the influences of Asia, Latin America and Europe -- and chef Markus is now applying all of those influences to the taco, so as not to stray from the original Row 14 concept. Tangibly, that means that this could be the only Taco Tuesday in town where you'll find tacos stuffed with duck confit and grilled pineapple or flank steak with truffled mushrooms. But you'll also find a more traditional fish taco, with battered fish and cabbage slaw, on the list, too.

Although fillings may change in the future, for now those three tacos are available every Tuesday for $3 each -- or 13 for $33. And if you'd like to pair your faux-Mexican feast with a little pork belly or chicken liver mousse, the restaurant will also be servings its regular menu.

The inaugural Row 14 Taco Tuesday starts tonight at 5 p.m.
