Weekend Update: The Great Food Truck Race in Denver

We're just about ready to take off to join the trucks taking part in the Food Network's The Great Food Truck Race, which is happening all around Denver, right this very minute, but before we venture out, we wanted to give you the very latest round of truck location updates:

Roxy's Gourmet Grilled Cheese, a truck from Boston, has aligned with Chicago Louie's, and those two trucks will be at Washington Park this morning during the Furry Scurry. Il Mondo Vecchio has supplied product to the truck, including the duck breast prosciutto, which will be used on at least one of the sandwiches. Michel Wahaltere, who drives the Chicago Louie's paddy wagon, is having a few generator issues, but he's working on it, and while this afternoon's location is still up in the air, it's highly probable that Roxy's, along with Chicago Louie's, will be dishing out food tonight in downtown Denver. We'll keep you posted.

Today, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Seabirds, the vegan food truck from Orange County, California, will pull up to the Horseshoe Craft & Flea Market, at 46th and Tennyson, in the parking lot behind Moore Howard Chapel. It'll be joined by Basic Kneads Pizza and Deluxe Street Food's the Little Orange Rocket, along with The Cozy Bean, CakeDenver and Hula Moon, which will have a tiki lounge. And then, from 5 to 8 p.m., Seabirds is slated to skid to a stop at Sweet Action Ice Cream, 52 Broadway.

Starting at 10:30 this morning, both the Lime Truck, which hails from Irvine, and the Hodge Podge truck from Cleveland, will pull up to Seventeenth Avenue, in front of Marczyk Fine Foods, 770 East Seventeenth Avenue, where they'll be pumping out grub until 3:15 p.m. -- black truffle macaroni and cheese with Haystack Mountain goat cheese and shaved truffles, for example. From 4:30 to 9 p.m., the trucks are skedded to park in front of Atomic Cowboy, 3237 East Colfax Avenue. The Cupcake Truck and the Denver Biscuit Bus will be in attendance, too.

The Lime and Hodge Podge trucks will be together all weekend long, and while tomorrow's schedule is still in play, a source extremely close to Hodge Podge tells me that they'll be in City Park tomorrow, near the Denver Zoo and museums, beginning at 11 a.m. "The show throws us a lot of curve balls -- they call them speed bumps," my source warns, so be prepared for the trucks to move on a dime. From what we've gathered, Hodge Podge will start off serving two or three dishes, and introduce new items as the day goes on. This is a great opportunity, says my source, to get to new trucks at once. He, promises, too, that the food will "knock it out of the park."

Cafe con Leche, the Cuban food truck from Van Nuys, California, is hanging out at Cuba Cuba, from 12:30 to 9 p.m. today, and Cuba Cuba's executive chef, Enrique Socarras, is making sure that there's extra incentive for hungry mouths: He's doing a porkerific pig roast. There's going to be a major mojito party going on, too.

The Korilla BBQ Truck, hailing from New York, will be parked in front of Steuben's both today and Sunday, from approximately 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Crock Spot and Street Eats will be in attendance, as well.

Stephen Daniels, who runs the Crock Spot, Rich Wong, who owns Street Eats and the Steuben's Food Truck have pledged allegiance to the Korilla BBQ truck, here from its home base of New York. A location is still being determined, but we do know that it won't be joining the Hodge Podge or Lime Truck at the Atomic Cowboy on Saturday, at least according to Doc Noe, who spearheads the Steuben's truck. Update: The Korilla BBQ truck will be outside Steuben's

On Sunday, Cafe con Leche will be camped outside Great Divide Brewery, 2201 Arapahoe, from 3 to 8 p.m. Quiero Arepas, Biker Jim and Stick It to Me will all be there, too, while Great Divide pours the suds.

We'll continue to post update locations and times as we get them, but definitely follow us on Twitter for up-to-the-minute location changes and speed bump announcements.
