Eco-Burger closes its doors in Cherry Creek

It was bun while it lasted: Eco-Burger has closed in Cherry Creek.

David Pellegrin and his wife, Rebekah Donovan Pellegrin, who also owned the now-defunct Q Worldly Barbecue, opened the burger spot exactly a year ago in the former home of Soleil Mediterranean Grill, which they'd closed three months earlier.

Here's the message you get when you now call Eco-Burger: "Today is June 8, 2011. We're sorry to let you know we are closed for business as of today. We're looking into opening an Eco-burger at a different location outside of Cherry Creek, but at the moment, we are closed for business..."

I'm so sad to see Eco burger closed. It was the one place I felt good about taking my family to eat both the food and the enviornment. We passed by it today and it was gone. I really think ANY other location it would have done well, but the exact location in Cherry Creek is a little hard to find and it looked closed when it wasn't. A store front that is right on the sidewalk instead of walking up a ramp would have been better and I had a feeling it would be there a short time, but hoped I was wrong. Please, please open in a different location and put on a groupon or Denver daily Deal and people will FLOCK to it. I miss you Eco Burger. Come back soon!

for sure one of my fave joints to eat a burger at in denver, hands down. although a few grass-fed beef options have popped up in colorado, you can still count them on one hand. SALT in Boulder and now the new food truck OG Burgers, and a few others hidden on some menu's, but Eco-Burger was the best for fast-casual and had lots of great sides and toppings and all the good stuff a quality burger joint needs. the sad thing was and has always been location. the concept is great and will easily beat out many others competing in the denver burger craze, but being hidden in cherry creek with it's high rent and low foot traffic (at the end) was just bad news from the start. most of those places in that area survive because of their booze license. wish i had the perfect suggestion as to where to go, but it's a toss-up. and sadly both places i would suggest have beaten you guys to the punch. Larkburger jumped into that great spot on alameda, and diego zhangs or whatever has that spot in streets at southglenn. both would have been good for eco burger, and not just the summer season. anyway, hope you can keep the concept in denver! -Chris // na711cho@yahoo.com
Opening a burger joint a block away from the Cricket, one of the most popular burger joints in Denver, was a mistake. While the burgers and fries at EB were great, it ended up being a Cricket alternative for families with bratty kids and turn-off for childless drinkers, like me.
It's the curse of the Burger Battle! First Tarbell's and now EcoBurger. They're gonna end up with Good Times and Burger King booths...
well this isn't any big surprise. They closed a successful restuarant to open some goofy burger joint. Denver doesn't need another burger joint regardless whether it is eco-friendly. what next green burgers
