• Wow. You sound like a fun one. Lighten up, servers, not servants, snatch.

• Auto-grat wouldn't be thrown on if large parties knew how to do math. 99% of places charge auto grat on large parties. 50% of these places WON'T split checks for you, like Snooki did here. Wanna bitch about it? Stay home and drink your warm beer with your hand down your pants.  

• Way to assume I tip 10-15%.. I'm normally a 20-25% tipper.  Before Tax.  What I don't get is you getting all butt hurt on 40 cents.  And yes I've worked the service industry to get get bad tips.. it soured my day.. but it also gave the motivation to finish school and do something than say, "would you like more water?"  If you don't like what you're doing.. it's only stupidity that'll keep making you do it. 

• Not sure, but I may have tipped on top of the automatic grat too... I was feeling pretty good after those martinis.

• I've worked in the service industry and depended on tips.  I have also protested tips being added to the total automatically at places I've worked.  Why?  Because really good service and a little well-placed flirting and decent jokes can net you a HIGHER tip than the automatic tip and people don't tip over an automatic gratuity unless they're too drunk to notice the gratuity. If you're not good enough to go over that percentage at least part of the time, and make a decent amount, you shouldn't be doing your job.

• Like I said, 40 cents. Pick your battles.

• Add a 20% tip to the bill for my party under 6 (the receipt clearly says "Guest: 1") and I'll happily tell you that you just cost yourself at least 5% and you should inform your boss that the policy is insulting!   After the message has sunk in, I'll hand you the extra tip, just because I'm a nice guy.... or not.

• Can't believe you are supporting tipping AFTER tax on an auto-gen tip. That should be up to the customer. Tax and tip on subtotal, please. That's how it has been done for ages. Only rip-offs do it the other way.

• It's three dirty martinis, up, with Stoli.

• c'mon buddy, ever read a receipt?  That's just three Stoli martini's, and two of them happy to be dirt, or ver very dirty as the case may be!

• no sir...3 drinks.  All Stoli, All served up, one without any taste at all, two that taste of bartender's fingernails.

• Good sense of humor exhibited by Trios Enoteca, which is more than I can say for the cheapasses who are complaining about tipping on the tax. Do people really worry about that spare change? In this case it adds 40 cents to the tip. Not sure about the automatic tip, but many places add one for large parties. Cry about it if you want, but it's pretty much ubiquitous.

• Seriously, pre-tax $24.99 for *eight* drinks? Average price $3.12?!

• The worst surprise on there is the automatic tip.  NOTE TO ESTABLISHMENTS, if the service sucks, I will let you know and give you an opportunity to correct it.  If you choose not to correct it, I will leave a smaller tip or not be leaving any tip at all.  If you add the tip automatically, I will subtract it off of the credit card receipt when I sign it.  All perfectly fine with my credit card issuer, mind you. It is time for Americans to stop accepting (encouraging) poor service in this country.  It is also time for Americans to begin rewarding excellent service.  I do not owe you a reasonable-paying job as a server if you would be better suited for working in retail or accounting.  If you are a good waiter/waitress, you should have a rewarding career ahead of you.
