Construction continues at Vine Street Pub, where a new brewery operated by the Mountain Sun group should be ready by mid-September -- ready, but not operational.

That's because it will take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for the company to work out its permitting issues from the city, the state and the feds.

In the meantime, Vine Street will kick off Belgian Beer Month in September, thirty days dedicated to Belgian and Belgian-style brews, including fifteen to twenty made by Mountain Sun itself. Brewmaster Brian Hutchinson will also be offering a tour of the finished facility on September 15. More details on that soon.

The Yak & Yeti, 7803 Ralston Road in Arvada, and its new brewmaster, Adam Draeger, will release a new beer, Vanilla wheat, today at 4 p.m. Not a vanilla porter, a vanilla wheat! Sounds good. And don't forget, the Yak shocked the world during last year's Great American Beer Festival when it won the gold for its Himalayan IPA in the highly competitive American-style strong pale ale category.

The Bull & Bush continues its 40 Beers in 40 Days fortieth-anniversary celebration this week, tapping lucky beer number thirteen tonight: the brewpub's Yule Fuel. That will be followed by St. Louis Gueuze Fond Tradition on Thursday; the pub's own Release the Hounds on Friday; De Ranke Saison de Dottignies on Saturday; and New Belgium's Le Terroir on Sunday. For the full list, go to www.bullandbush.com.

California brewer Firestone Walker arrives in Fort Collins today at Choice City Butcher, 104 West Olive Street, for a party from 6 to 8 p.m. Pair your sandwich with DBA, Pale 31, Union Jack, Double Jack, Summer Solace or 14th Anniversary.

Join BrewDEN, a group of beer lovers, for their monthly meet, greet and tweet -- this time at the newly opened Renegade Brewing Company, 925 West Ninth Avenue. The event starts at 6 p.m., and Renegade is offering two free tasters to each BrewDEN attendee. There will also be a raffle and a tour starting at 7 p.m.

Firestone Walker wraps up its Colorado roll-out tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids and Solids, 1555 South Hover Street in Longmont. The California brewer will be pouring DBA, Pale 31, Union Jack, Double Jack, Summer Solace and 14th Anniversary, and pairing all of these brews with food.

And over at Oskar Blues's Longmont tasting room, the Tasty Weasel, you can check out Beer Culture: The Movie, a feature-length documentary that explores "the growth of the American craft beer movement" by "telling the inspirational stories of unwavering motivation by some of Colorado's top brewers." Tickets are $6. Go to www.beerculturemovie.com for tickets and more info.

Friday, July 29

Dry Dock Brewing in Aurora will tap its cask-conditioned Kona Koffee Porter today as part of the brewery's weekly Firkin Friday program. The tap room opens at 3 p.m. Last week, the firkin was gone in 61 minutes (a Dry Dock record), so get there early.

Saturday, July 30

Beer Culture: The Movie continues its tour through Colorado at Odell Brewing in Fort Collins. The feature-length documentary explores "the growth of the American craft beer movement" by "telling the inspirational stories of unwavering motivation by some of Colorado's top brewers." There will be live music by Crooks Coat -- one of the bands that provided the soundtrack for the movie -- along with popcorn, food trucks, and a meet-and-greet with the producer and director. The party starts at 7 p.m. and the screening is at 9 p.m. Tickets are available at www.beerculturemovie.com and at the Odell tap room.

Sunday, July 31

City, O' City closes down tomorrow for a month-long remodel and expansion, but tonight the place will be rocking with all sorts of veggie specials and the 7 p.m. tapping of Denver Beer Co's American Wheat with kaffir lime leaves. It will be your first chance to try something from Denver Beer Co, which plans to open its own brewery on August 12.
