Organixx closes in LoDo
In 2009, when Jason Sheehan, Westword's former restaurant critic, reviewed Organixx, whose menu verbiage touted "the best of organic, natural, local, wild caught and traditional products available to us," he wanted to hate the joint. " I'm not coming to your restaurant to join your cult or be converted. Just make me a sandwich and shut up," sneered Sheehan, who then found himself eating his words.

And now Organnix has been eaten up, so to speak, by the almighty dollar. Erwin Chang, who owns the store, is shuttering it today at 3 p.m., because, says Chang, he's run out of money to keep it going. "It's a long story, but it comes down to the fact that I don't have enough money to continue to keep it open," he laments.
That's not to say, however, that he won't try to resurrect his green concept somewhere else, which is exactly what he'd like to do. "Eventually, when I get some funds, I'd really like to reopen elsewhere, maybe Writer's Square, but I have no idea when," he notes.
"I'm sad for sure," he continues," but little by little, I"m feeling better, and hoping that something better will come along."
It ain't easy being green.
