From La Merise to Phat Thai to Bisque, Cherry Creek is getting new spots

While Cherry Creek is not the restaurant hot-spot it once was, there's still plenty of action in the area. In a quick turn-around, La Merise is slated to open today in the former home of Argyll, at 2700 East Third Avenue. And Cafe Bisque -- now known simply as Bisque -- is leaving Lakewood in favor of Cherry Creek, where it will open next month in the spot previously occupied by Eco Burger, at 2817 East Third Avenue.

Renowned Carbondale chef Mark Fischer is opening a second Phat Thai at 2900 East Second Avenue; that spot had its liquor license hearing last week, so an opening shouldn't be far away.

On Monday, Michael Olsen had his hearing on a liquor-license application for 231 Milwaukee Street, where he wants to open a nightclub named Cherry. This past spring, he was stymied in his efforts to put a new version of Hush, the club he ran in Larimer Square (its spot is now home to Wicked Garden), in the subterranean space at 250 Steele Street that had been Tambien, but no opposition showed at Cherry's hearing Monday.

And just across the street at 240 Milwaukee, Pasquini's Cherry Creek has its own liquor-license hearing set for November 2.
