Mariscos Las Islitas relocates -- and reopens -- on Federal Boulevard
A couple of months ago, we noticed that Mariscos Las Islitas, the little Mexican seafood joint that occupied an address on Evans near Federal, had closed its doors. It didn't take long for it to resurface: The restaurant merely closed down its original location to relocate from one strip mall to another, picking up a prime spot on Federal Boulevard near Florida.

An employee at the restaurant cites better real estate as one motivation to move: "We're on Federal now. It's a better street."
But she also says that the biggest motivation to trade up was that the new address came with a liquor license, which means the restaurant is now serving beer and cocktails in addition to the menu. And speaking of that menu, it'll eventually get a little expansion, too -- though for now, it remains the same as the original.
