Reader: Steak 'n Shake opening in the same town as IKEA? Famous!

On November 17, metro Denver will finally get its own Steak 'n Shake, a link in a chain that started in Normal, Illinois, back in 1934, and proclaims that it's "Famous for Steakburgers."

Aimee can't wait:

OMG, so I can go to Steak 'n Shake and then to IKEA in one day without a plane ticket? If they just get a Trader Joe's and an IMO's pizza, I'll be beside myself!

This first Colorado store will be in Centennial, just off of C-470 at South Quebec Street and East County Line Road -- conveniently close to IKEA. A total of five locations are slated to open in the state; a second is already under construction in Colorado Springs.

So once again Centennial gets the visability and tax revenue while Denver gets?

If Denver doesn't get a Trader Joe's then I'm going to commit a Satanic ritual in a local parking lot with My Chemical Romance playing, black candles, and possibly a live goat.

Definitely a biased Midwesterner, but, in my opinion, Steak 'n Shake is better than In and Out.  Will probably make the trek down south in the near future for a double bacon cheeseburger and cookies and cream shake.

Is Westword also hearing STRONG rumors that Trader Joes will be opening Colorado locations soon. Specifically Boulder first and possibly DU area soon after? Someone should make some calls.
