The Great Harvest Bakery reopened last week at 7745 Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada, and will celebrate being back in business with a ribbon-cutting at 4:30 p.m. today, followed by a weekend of deals on Friday, February 17, and Saturday, February 18.

"We are so excited to reopen the bakery doors," says Beth McCrory, who owns the place with Cheri Miller. "We've missed our customers, and it's a great joy to again bake up a storm of whole-grain breads and sweets made with fresh, healthy and simple ingredients. We hope everyone stops by for the celebration and a generous slice of something warm from the oven."

The celebration this weekend will include a raffle for gift baskets and other prizes; customers will receive a free loaf of fresh-baked bread with any purchase. And Miller says that regulars can stop in anytime for a free slice of hot-out-of-the oven bread or another sweet. "Our bakery is rooted in generosity, and we thoroughly enjoy sharing our daily creations," she notes.

Great Harvest was originally founded in Great Falls, Montana. Today it has more than 200 bakeries throughout the country, each individually owned and operated, but all with an emphasis on handcrafted breads made with freshly ground whole wheat purchased from family-owned farms, as well as other fresh-baked breads and sweets.

Arvada's Great Harvest bakery is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, call 303-420-0500 or go to www.arvadagreatharvest.com.
