Uncle is coming soon to the Lower Highland neighborhood

Uncle is coming soon to this address in the Lower Highland neighborhood.
Despite the proliferation of restaurants in the Lower Highland neighborhood over the last couple of years, the area still isn't quite ready to call Uncle. In fact, we keep getting word of new projects going into the area, including a restaurant actually called Uncle.

A liquor license application sign is up in the window of an address that's right next to Highland Tap & Burger at West 32nd Avenue and Vallejo Street, and it confirms that a restaurant is in the works.

While details are sparse on the project -- and the windows of the address are papered over, preventing anyone from seeing what sort of remodel might be going on inside the space -- we know that booze will be part of the equation. According to the signage, Uncle goes before the Department of Excise and License on April 20.

I've heard it will be an asian noodle bar type place, but with a name like uncle, who knows?

New front-runner for worst restaurant name ever. Beats anything with "dawgz" in it even.

Hey Claudia, Fire on the Mountain is a cool new wing joint going in to the former Generous Servings space. Check us out at fotmdenver.com or on facebook. Thanks for asking!

Thanks that sounds exciting. Hope this becomes a good alternative to Three Dogs for happy hour/ after work place to grap a beer with hopefully much better food and atmosphere.

Does anyone know if something is going into the old Generous Servings space? I noticed there is a lot of construction going on inside.

It's going to be a fried wing and beer bar. I expect a lot of complaints from the neighbors who's bedroom windows face the patio.
