Culinary calendar: Penny Parker's Decadent Delights, a giant potato and grappa!
Penny Parker may have lost her job at the Denver Post, but she hasn't lost her interest in a charity that helps breast-cancer patients -- a charity that will benefit from a fundraiser at Coohills this Tuesday.
Here's a taste of what else is on the culinary calendar this week:
Monday, April 9:
Coohills
It's opening day for the Rockies, which means the return of the Best Balls at Coors Fields. Bars in and around the Ballpark neighborhood will be offering deals all day.
Head over to Interstate Kitchen & Bar, 901 West 10th Avenue, for the weekly Rock 'n' Roll Spelling Bee, which starts at 9 p.m. Eat, drink and win prizes.
Tuesday, April 10:
Penny Parker's third annual Evening of Decadent Delights will be at Coohills, 1400 Wewatta Street, and also features food from the chefs of Ambria, Aria, Cholon, Charcoal, Elway's, Restaurant Kelly Liken, Opus and Trillium. The event starts at 6 p.m. and costs $112, which will benefit Sense of Security. Call 720-985-6947 for tickets.
Few people know the whole story of grappa. Become one of them tonight at Amaro Drinkery Italia, 2785 Iris Avenue in Boulder, which will sample seven varieties alongside small bites from chef Alec Schuler. Call 303-443-5100 for details.
