New Jack in the Box opens today in Denver

Jack in the Box, home of good curly fries and notoriously bad tacos, is opening a new store today at 2020 South Federal Boulevard. Doors open at 9 a.m. with an inaugural fiesta including giveaways.

This is the second in a series of new, improved Jacks to pop up in the metro area. The California-based chain had left the area altogether a dozen years ago, then started its Colorado comeback several years ago.

The first new-look Jackdebuted in Aurora last month; this South Federal store will also feature the company's new menu and new look. The resign includes decorative pendant lighting, ceramic tile floors and graphic wall hangings, and the 55-seat dining room has both booths and high-top tables. The drive-thru will be open 24/7, the dining room from 6 a.m. to midnight.

And the world's worst tacos will be on special: two for 99 cents, so that means that Jenn in Chains will not only be there for the grand opening -- she'll be reviewing the reportedly new and improved fast-food fare with a taco in each hand.

Stay tuned!

There are several of the "resigns" already in the larger metro area (Arvada, Highlands Ranch). And the 2/.99 tacos are a regular, longstanding menu offering.

Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I LOVE those tacos!

THANKS FOR TEH 411 WOLOWITZ! Though I probably won't be dining there.

Hey, I was biking around DTC the other day and saw a boarded-up Arby's at Yosemite and Arapahoe. It was so sad, and I thought of you. Perhaps WW can send you on an all-expenses-paid trip down there to photograph it.
