Kraine Station reaches the end of the line

Kraine Station -- which was heralded just a few short months ago as a spot that would deliver authentic Ukrainian food to Denver -- has closed, just like so many earlier occupants of 1434 Blake Street.

Papi Sorrelis had taken over the spot from Jimmy Calanni, who briefly ran it as The Blake, with hopes of giving the spot a "new face." But now there's a closed sign and "for sale" banner on that face.

Sorry that I was wrong Papi; I should have realized "you were in it for the long haul"...two weeks after Easter.Clasiqueando2 months agoThe only thing the 1434 Blake space is good for, is keeping the contractors in business.Closed before Easter...The only thing the 1434 Blake space is good for, is keeping the contractors in business.Closed before Easter...Papiuky1 month agoin reply to Kozak(...) Clasiquendo...since we bought the building too, I guess were in it for the long haul. Care to take a bet on and Easter closing.

Good riddance. Maybe if they had focus'd on good food in quiet surroundings instead of their 'live' entertainment (bad loud karaoke or whatever passed as live music screaming out the open front door & speakers until late night) they had might have received some local neighborhood support - instead of annoying everyone who lived around that block. Same story with the last couple shady establishments that have crawled thru that location.

Maybe now they can put a pizza joint in there. Something that serves pizza in the style of Grand Junction, perhaps.

Ah, but for the days of City Spirit.

Sorry, that didn't post as I wrote it.

When they opened, I gave them until Easter.  Papi Sorrelis, the owner, told me that since they had purchased the building, "they were in if for the long haul" and asked if I wanted to "bet on the an Easter closing".

I was wrong by two weeks...

Good call Clasiqueando.  I remember when you posted that and I was thinking that even Easter would be a stretch.  I think Lure was about the longest running tenant here, at least since the Sausage Haus.  Such a prime location, that has yet to capitalize.
