Crazy Mountain Brewing, the buzz-worthy Vail-area beer maker that more than doubled in size this year, will start selling five of its beers in 22-ounce bottles this week. All five -- Old Soul Strong Belgian Ale, Hookiebobb IPA, Cara de Luna Black Ale, Scenic Route Kolsh, and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades ESB -- will be available in liquor stores in Denver, Boulder and the rest of the state, says Crazy Mountain founder Kevin Selvy.

Then, by late summer, Crazy Mountain will release a sixth bomber, Snow Cat Coffee Stout, and yet another beer, Kura Koa Red Ale, in six-packs. The brewery already sells three beers, Amber Ale, Mountain Livin' Pale Ale and Lava Lake Wit, in six-packs.

"The reaction has been outstanding. We're just trying to keep up," says Selvy. "We're growing a lot faster than we thought we would." All five of the beers have been available on tap at Denver-area bars at one time or another, but this is the first time they've been available in bottles in the Front Range market.

It's been quite a year for Selvy, 28, who founded the brewery in 2010 after leaving a career as a securities trader for Barclay's. Earlier this year, Crazy Mountain completed a $4 million expansion project that will allow the brewery to brew 12,000 barrels this year, up from 5,000 in 2011, and up to 20,000 in 2012. The brewery also began bottling and canning and distributing in California, Florida and Texas.

And in early May, Selvy was featured on CNBC in an article about former traders who left Wall Street to go into the beer business.

Oh, and if that's not enough, Crazy Mountain is planning another expansion next year.

Trust me that LGM is better and fresher in a can. Yes a bomber is bigger. Clara De Luna is my favorite and occasionally whatever small batch stuff they have at the Brewey.

I discovered Lava Lake Wit at Mondo Vino last weekend and it is officially my favorite beer for the summer.

This brewery is quickly becoming one of my favorites and will probably be a major player in the next few years. Now, if only, "Lawyers, Guns & Money" can make it into a bottle!

They are definitely positioning themselves to become a player, not just in Colorado, but elsewhere. And, yes, that LG&M is damn good.
