Exotic flowers, beer and cheese and pancakes on this week's calendar
It's always tough getting back to the grindstone after a three-day weekend, but at least there are some enticing food events happening during this short work week.
Mateo in Boulder is hosting its "May Flowers" wine dinner tonight.
Here's a taste:

Great Divide's taproom.
Mateo, 1837 Pearl Street in Boulder, presents a four-course wine dinner tonight. Each course is inspired by a different exotic flower -- orchid, wild hibiscus, trillium and elderflower. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and costs $50; call 303-443-7766 to RSVP.
Check out the beer and cheese pairing at Great Divide Brewing, 2201 Arapahoe Street; $24 gets you five cheeses paired with beer (sample-sized pours) and a view of the brewhouse. Space is limited; call 303-296-9460 to grab a spot.
