Photos: Miller's Grille opens in downtown Lafayette

Miller's Grille is replacing Tutti along South Public Road in downtown Lafayette. Owner Rich Womack wants it to be a neighborhood spot with reasonably priced steaks and burgers, but also to provide diners with classy choices like pear-caper vinaigrette-drizzled salads and a mean butternut squash risotto. In addition, all of Miller's desserts, like their caramel apple bread pudding, are made from scratch in house.

And although Womack has done away with Tutti's experiment in offering three portion sizes for every item, he's retained much of the menu and the staff.

The restaurant is named for Mary Miller, who founded the town of Lafayette with her husband in 1878; she remained a community leader until her death in 1921.

Miller's Grille is open for dinner seven days a week. Starting on June 1, lunch will be offered Wednesday through Sunday, opening at 11 a.m. Happy hour is 4 to 6 p.m. daily.

Have a look at the food, the atmosphere, and the brand-new patio of Lafayette's newest restaurant.
