Contest: Win two seats to the Celebrity Chef Tour at Linger

Next Wednesday night at Linger, local chefs Frank Bonanno (Mizuna, Luca d'Italia, Osteria Marco, Bones, Green Russell, Lou's Food Bar and Russell's Smokehouse), Eric Skokan (Black Cat Bistro and Bramble and Hare), Ann Cooper (the Renegade Lunch Lady), Daniel Asher, Samm Sherman and Justin Cucci (Root Down and Linger) will be joined by Amanda Cohen, the chef-owner of Dirty Candy, in New York, whose strictly vegetarian restaurant struts the motto: "Anyone can cook a hamburger, but leave the vegetables to the professionals."

The gathering of like-minded kitchen magicians is part of the roving Celebrity Chef Tour Dinner Series, which struts the talents of James Beard Foundation Award winners and other star chefs, all of whom convene at venues in different cities across America to pay homage to the late James Beard, for whom the Foundation is named, and cook multi-course tasting menus for fervent foodniks. "Daniel and I went to Dirty Candy when we were in New York, and basically ate one of everything. We were blown away, and we're very excited that Amanda is participating, plus we have a great lineup of other Denver and Boulder chefs who share a similar ethos," says Cucci, the exec chef-owner of Root Down and Linger.

Tickets to the dinner are $150 each, and can be purchased at https://kiosk.eztix.co/kiosk/5384, but we're giving one Cafe Society reader the opportunity to eat and hobnob for free. The dinner, which includes a multitude of passed appetizers, plus seven courses, all paired with liquid assets, begins at 6 p.m., and judging from the menu, which is rooted in vegetables, (and pig!), you want to win this.

Here's how: Tell us how many guests attended the Celebrity Chef Tour dinner at the historic James Beard House in 2006, a number that forced the New York City fire marshal to establish strict occupancy numbers for future dinners.

Submit your guesses in the comments section below, and we'll announce the winner, who can bring a guest to the dinner, next Tuesday by 5 p.m. And please make sure that you can actually attend before entering the contest.

By the way, the celebrity chef that night at the Beard House was Michael Lomonaco, the then-executive chef of Windows on the World, which was reduced to rubble on 9/11. Lomonaco escaped, but 79 of his colleagues perished in the blast.

We have a Winner. The Answer is 125.  The CFO from the Beard Foundation would not know the answer because it was a Celebrity Chef Tour dinner, Not a Beard House dinner.  The Guest Celebrity Chef could have answered the question and it can also be found at http://celebritycheftour.com/archive/Fun-Facts.html  Thank you all for being a part of the contest.

I thought that the max was closer to 80?  Either way, wasn't the max established after the 2006 event? DAMN.  I really want to go to this dinner.
