"It's going to be a blast," says Herb Brodsky, who co-founded Novo Coffee ten years ago, and is hosting a birthday party at the roasting facility this Saturday. "Last year over 500 people showed up -- everyone is welcome!" he says.

Highlands Garden Cafe

Tuesday, July 31:

The fourth annual Tasty Colfax -- a walking tour and tasting at eateries along East Colfax between Columbine and Monroe streets -- goes down tonight from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets costs $25 and include food from fourteen restaurants, live music and access to after-parties. Highlands Garden Cafe, 3927 West 32nd Avenue, will host the first in a series of dinners focusing on gardening and locally-sourced food tonight at 6 p.m. Jenny Redmond of Table Mountain Farms will be the featured speaker. Dinner will buffet style and complimentary, but the cafe asks that attendees bring their own dishes and recipes to share. Seating is limited to twenty; call 303-458-5920 to reserve a spot.

Mezcal, 3230 East Colfax Avenue, presents its annual taco-eating contest this evening at 6 p.m. The $20 entry fee includes margaritas, a t-shirt and a chance to compete in a taco eating contest for a taco trophy and other prizes. Call 303-322-5219 for more information.
