Guess where I'm eating deep-fried Mexican onions?

I ingested some horrible food this weekend, including a breakfast burrito that's responsible for the fact that I didn't sleep -- at all -- last night, but before that malicious attack, I feasted at another restaurant that turns out deep-fried Mexican onions marinated in fresh lime juice and specked with garlic, crushed chiles and oregano, and as soon as I get my appetite back, I'm going back for more.

Can you guess where I'm eating?

Special bonus: Anyone who gives the first correct answer to the week's Guess Where posts is entered into a pool -- and every Monday, we select one lucky winner who'll receive an EatDenver dining deck, worth up to $520 in discounts at independent restaurants. Ah. Ok. I was thinking more Temple of Doom where they might rip your heart out and take a bite. No quiero comer mi corazón.

I think you missed the integral part of the clue. Normally when there's a set price to eat your heart out, it's not an a la carte menu.

Tamayo? $15.99 for deep-fried onions? Cripes.

No, but here's a hint: $15.99...to eat your heart out.

Who cares where?  The REAL question is, where was my invitation to join you?  I loves me some Lori Midson, and I loves me some honest Mexican food.  Dining on the one, while enjoying the conversational skills and intellect of the other?  Nirvana!
