Reader: Hooters may go, but Twin Peaks, Tilted Kilt and Earls will take its place

hooters-girl-infographic.jpg
The Hooters at 1390 South Colorado Boulevard -- not just the first Hooters in Denver, but the first Hooters this side of the Mississippi -- is closing on Friday.

The breastaurant moved into this former White Spot (not Village Inn -- sorry, Steveville) space in 1989, and now the landlord wants to completely redo the property, so Hooters must go. The franchise owners are currently looking for another location in the metro area.

And meanwhile, people across town are mourning. People like Rusty, for example, who says:

Ordinarily, I'd applaud this - except for the two Twin Peaks, one Tilted Kilt and probably one more Earl's that will pop up across Denver in its place.

Yes, breastaurants are on the move. See our graphic guide to them, "Breastaurants: America's greatest export," here.

Ahh, the White Spot.  Used to go to the downtown location with my grandparents all the time as a kid.  Killer hash browns.

Thanks for correcting me on that, Patty.  I knew it was one of those joints.
