Reader: The Kitchen Denver left me wanting more

For her first Westword review, Gretchen Kurtz visited The Kitchen Denver, the fourth restaurant in the Kitchen empire that got its start in Boulder eight years ago, and finally reached LoDo in March.

Her review? Mixed. And, not surprisingly, so are the comments on Kurtz's review itself.

But Matt agrees with the review:

I am a guy LOVING everything the Kitchen BOULDER has done, and I am in total agreement with the review. We went to the new Kitchen Denver, and left wanting more. Almost sterile experience and I think the glam of the city overshadowed their ideals.

Best of luck in the future to the Kitchen Denver, I hope to visit again and be blown away.

I recently had lunch there, and I, too, was not blown away.  Aside from the to-die-for-dessert, as dish after dish arrived, I kept thinking, "people are so excited about THIS?"  At a great restaurant, you put a bite of food in your mouth, you close your mouth, and you just think, "yessss."  That never happened to me here.  Except for the toffee dessert.  That was great.
