Guess where I'm eating a sub sandwich?

I keep trying to find a great sub sandwich in this city, and aside from Carbone's, I keep coming up short -- and this sub only added to my discouragement.

Can you guess where I'm eating?

And while you're at it, tell me where I should go to satisfy my longing.

Special bonus: Anyone who gives the first correct answer to the week's Guess Where posts is entered into a pool -- and every Monday, we select one lucky winner who'll receive an EatDenver dining deck, worth up to $520 in discounts at independent restaurants. Oh, and a couple of other places that you might like - Old Fashioned Italian Deli and Spinelli's Market.

Wherever that is - it looks Boooooring - You should try The Italian Stallion at Chia's Lunch Counter in Golden...Pepperoni, Capicola, Salami & Provolone on an Amoroso roll. There I said it.

Who the hell wants to go all the way out to Golden for a sandwich?  If I go to Golden, I'm having a complete lunch or dinner.

@steveville  @chiappetta7 "All the way to Golden" isn't very far for people who live in or near Golden. It's not just people who live in Denver or Aurora who read this blog. But it's great for the rest of us to know that it's a real inconvenience for you to drive to Golden for a sandwich.

I agree, Jimmy Johns. As for Italian Delis: Salvagetti's at 17th & California cuts meat fresh to order for subs. Much as I hated them kicking out my previous favorite Italian Deli, they do a really good job.

Bocadillo! Best grub off the grid.

I'll go ahead and guess Jimmy John's, looks a lot like one of their sandwiches.

My guess is Angelo's, but I prefer Snarf's and Jimmy John's, even though they're chains.

@steveville You can't compare Snarfs to JJ's, ever. Thousands of stores serving craptacular sandos compared to 6 shops serving hand-crafted deliciousness? No contest.

Please go back and read my post.  I didn't compare Snarf's to Jimmy John's.  I wrote that I prefer Snarf's and Jimmy John's over Angelo's.

Well, I've had a pretty decent sub at DiFranco's - might want to give them a try.
