Wurstküche buys Rockaway Tavern building
Wurstküche, a company that runs exotic sausage restaurants in downtown Los Angeles and in Venice Beach, has taken over the building at 2036 Broadway that most recently housed Rockaway Tavern (and was the Triangle for decades before that). But don't fire up the grill just yet.

According to co-owner Joseph Pitruzzelli, right now there are no plans to open a restaurant in the space -- although the company did purchase it with an eye to potential expansion.
The LA-based restaurants serve everything from bratwurst and bockwurst to exotic sausages made with duck and bacon, alligator and pork, rattlesnake and rabbit. They also serve Belgian fries and a variety of Belgian and German beers.
Fortunately, if you're hungering for exotic meats, Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs is only a few blocks away, at 2148 Larimer Street.
