The fifth annual Buy Local Week began last Friday and runs through this Friday, November 30. The campaign coincides with the most popular week for holiday shopping and urges shoppers to support local retailers, markets and restaurants. Visit the website for a guide and information on "cash mobs" going down today and Wednesday.

Monday, November 26:

The week after Thanksgiving is a good time to mark Meatless Monday at Olivea, 719 East 17th Avenue, or Duo, 2413 West 32nd Avenue. Call 303-477-4141 for more information on the menus.

Tuesday, November 27:

Infinite Monkey Theorem is hosting Save the Chimp tonight at 6 p.m. Tickets to the fundraiser cost $30 and include two glasses of wine and eats from Caveman Cafeteria food truck; there will also be live African drumming, a silent auction, tours and barrel tastings. Proceeds from the night will benefit the New Nature Foundation efforts to protect Kibale National Park in Western Uganda; visit the website for more information and to purchase tickets.
