The place looks cool. My concern is that the bowling, ping pong, etc., will be priced much higher than at the d-bag fest locales known as Lucky Strike and Ace.

Well, we shall see. Not sure of the concept but if it is successful they are going to cause horrendous parking problems in the area. El Diablo and Sketch are already encroaching on local businesses and neighborhood parking even while utilizing Punch Bowl's parking. I'm guessing that allowing parking for other businesses in the area is about to end. I predict a parking clusterf**k.

@Denver Dave I predict that people don't care about parking when it comes to dining out, hitting trendy spots, and having fun. Maybe the Baker residents will be annoyed, but such is the price for living within walking distance of such a vibrant commercial district.

@Mantonat Tell it to the neighbors bordering South Gaylord, South Pearl, West Wash Park, West 32nd and Lohi. All of those areas have been successful in lobbying the city to restrict parking on neighboring streets. Good luck finding a parking place around these "vibrant" areas. The city's master plan presumes foot traffic but we all know that is a joke. Try and find a parking place near Root Down, LInger, LIttle Man, Vita, Lola, Central, LoHi Steak Bar, Sushi Den, Devil's Food,, Izakaya, Black Pearl, Bittersweet, Cafebar, Finely's Pub to name a few. Vibrant areas, yes. Adequate parking - not so much.

@Mantonat @Bakerite I don't drive, never have, but my experience with drivers (i.e. most folks) is that they like walking about as much as they like chewing glass-studded bubblegum. People aren't going to hoof it from the Alameda station in high heels with a buzz on.

@Mantonat @Bakerite Alameda light rail station is about 3/4 mile away; however, the 0 bus will drop you at Punch Bowl's front door … not that many patrons will likely set aside their cars (except when they forget where they parked)

@Denver Dave @Mantonat For those who are greatly concerned: I hear there is plenty of parking at the Celebrity Lanes in Centennial. Also a great Chili's there with ample spots. ;) Smarmy comments aside, it is a good point that we will likely hear some complaining very soon from the West Wash Park homeowners. The same ones who threw a fit about Gary Lee's "biker bar patio" non - issue.

@Bakerite That's the spirit. I think it's an even shorter walk from the alameda light rail. People who worry about parking are the same people who worry. Period.

@Mantonat Public policy consultant James Castle once said "any place worth its salt has a parking problem". That being said I live 10 minutes away by foot, and getting totally wasted there ASAP
