Gatsby's is now pouring in LoDo, Cru at DIA

Gatsby's Facebook page
Gatsby's has opened in the former home of the Wine Loft at 1527 Wazee Street. The speakeasy-style lounge is now offering a preliminary menu of "gourmet bites" and crafted cocktails -- and that lineup will expand once the restaurant puts the finishing touches on its concept.

Gatsby's is also offering a happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call 720-519-1632 for more information.

And out at Denver International Airport, Crú Food & Wine Bar just opened on Concourse B. The spot isn't as spacious as the locations in Larimer Square and Vistas at Park Meadows, but it has a broad and ever-changing list of wines available by the bottle, in tasting flights or by the glass; the menu features appetizers and panini sandwiches, individual-sized gourmet pizzas, domestic cheeses and desserts to pair with wine.

This is the first in a series of new restaurant concepts that will roll out at DIA next year; many of those are offshoots of local businesses, including Root Down, Udi's and Elway's, Watch for updates on Cafe Society.

My Voice Nation Help

We went to Gatsby's this weekend. It is an embarrassment of a bar. We walked in and the hostess barely looked up from her phone to greet us. The bartenders seemed clueless. Hospitality was non-existent. The cocktail menu looks like it was written in the late eighties, but not in a cool retro sort of way, more like a lame and tired sort of way. The wine list is a leftover from the Wine Loft, hit or miss. I think there is food... but our bar service was so bad (1 guy and two scantily clad women behind the bar, pin-balling and looking lost) that we never would have known. The music, seemed as if it was coming from a small stereo in the corner of the room, not a full sound system. Gatsby's is anything but a cool cocktail lounge as the name and press suggest. It's just a nightclub with dark wood and lounges. The lack of attention to detail is astounding. They may have hurried to get open before new years, so the concept is incomplete, but first impresssions are a bitch...that is why you should work those things out BEFORE you open. Oh, and on the way out the hostess did not look up from her phone

I liked The Wine Loft, shame it didn't work out for them.

Looks exactly like the former space The Wine Loft. Dubious of this. The sign outside is literally so small you have to really look hard to find it. I'll give it a shot but....?

Call for more information? No website? What is this, the 1920's?

This post is extremely enlightening.  I'll add this joint to my list of places that I won't visit.
