A second helping of this week's Cafe Society
Gretchen Kurtz reviewed TAG Burger Bar, which Troy Guard opened in the former home of Madison Street. Although she loved many of the non-burger items on the menu -- including the Kung Fu Panda salad, a saucy macaroni and cheese, fried Brussels sprouts and duck-fat fries - these dishes still feel like opening acts: intriguing, but not the main event. Not surprisingly, the burgers take center stage at TAG Burger Bar, and she found that versions ranging from the classic Angus to the more complicated Colorado Proud lived up to their star billing.

For Chef and Tell, Lori Midson interviewed chef/owner George Eder of Pizza Republica, which he opened in the Landmark project in Greenwood Village back in 2008; he'll open a second Pizza Republica downtown in mid-March. (You can post a review of Pizza Republica, too, on its Voice Places location.)
Mark Antonation made it to two restaurants this week for A Federal Case, his series on eating his way up Federal Boulevard. While he found that Rico Pollo wasn't worth the stop, he'd make a special trip to San Antonio Mexican Bakery.
