Culinary calendar: plenty of beer to ring in the new year

The thirteenth annual Big Beers, Belgians and Barleywines Festival takes place in Vail this Thursday through Saturday, January 12. This winter fest features some of the most unique and rare craft beers in the country; check the website for the full lineup of participating breweries, the schedule of events and ticket availability.

Wednesday, January 9:

Lucky Pie Pizza & Taphouse, 1610 16th Street, is showcasing a special holiday ale and dopplebock from Wyoming's Grand Teton Brewing Company today at 4 p.m.; call 303-825-1021 for more information.

The back wall at Euclid Hall, 1317 14th Street, will be taken over by California's Russian River Brewing Co. today. The beer hall will begin pouring the brewery's Supplication, Consecration and Temptation ales at 7 p.m.; call 303-595-4255 for more details.
