Get your "Guy Fieri" slice at Fat Sully's, opening Thursday on South Broadway

Three weeks ago, Food Network personality Guy Fieri was romping around Denver, shooting footage for an upcoming episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, and one of the joints where he made an appearance was the Denver Biscuit Company and Fat Sully's, a pizzeria that's located inside the Atomic Cowboy on East Colfax . And according to executive chef Jonathan Larsen, Fieri was enamored with Larsen's take on 'za. "We made him a slice topped with sausage, mushrooms, feta, banana peppers and basil, and he told us that it was one of the top five slices of pizza he'd ever had," recounts Larsen.

Larsen, along with Drew and Ashley Shader, who own Fat Sully's (as well as the Denver Biscuit Company), will undoubtedly capitalize on Fieri's accolades when, as we first reported back in December, they open a second Fat Sully's on Thursday at 140 South Broadway.

The take-out only space -- it's sidewalk window ordering and delivery only -- shares a kitchen with its next door neighbor, the Crimson Canary, and starting on Thursday at 4 p.m., the crew will lift up the window and hand out free slices of pizza, a promotion that will continue with those same hours through Saturday. On Sunday, the dough slingers will dish out free slices from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. -- or until they run out, and on Monday, it'll open for its regular business hours, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.; delivery to Washington Park, Baker, Bonnie Brae, Observatory Park, Platt Park and Cherry Creek will be available until 1 a.m. daily.

"We've been looking for another space to open for a few years, and this was the right spot and the right situation, plus this is a location that really allows us to expand our delivery squadron" says Larsen, adding that "Drew is really good friends with the guys from Crimson Canary, and it's great for us, because we get to share the kitchen." He reveals, too, that Shader is also looking for additional locations.

The menu, he says, will be the same as the original, with slices topped with the usual suspects, along with specialty slices -- like the "Guy Fieri" and whole pies that the duo are also hoping to deliver to watering holes around Baker that don't serve food. "The idea is to first introduce ourselves by bringing pizzas to all the bars around the 'hood, just to let them know that we're here, and then we'll see what happens, but we're open to anything, and we're super-excited to be in this area," says Larsen.

To all you haters -- Guy may not be your hipster style of chef or celeb, but his success is undeniable. He's managed to spread the word about a ton of local businesses that would otherwise go unnoticed. That's a good thing. He has built a solid career on and off screen, and knows the food industry quite well. He's a family man and is not afraid to be himself, even if you don't dig his style. Now compare that to your accomplishments and try reponding in an intelligent manner with a sentence that doesn't contain the word "douche." Weak sauce.

I like the fact that his show, triple D, highlights good locally owned businesses in a price range that doesn't break the bank.  It's a good way to find tasty and inexpensive restaurants when traveling out of state.

No. I don't even know who Guy Fieri is, other than a TV celeb, but he looks like a douchebag (seriously - the hair?! Sugar Ray is calling and wants his 1994 hair back.), and therefore I would not eat ANYTHING named after him.

I like to think that Guy Fieri is an extremely dedicated performance artist and these last several years have been one long-form comedy piece.
