Arvada Beer Company will increase its brewing capacity by about 30 percent this month by adding two eight-barrel fermenters that will be used to help it get ready to sell more beer to other restaurants and bars and to begin canning its own beers.

"We are on tap at fifteen different locations and we have more looking to add us on, so we really need the extra capacity," says Cary Floyd, one half of the husband-and-wife team that opened Arvada Beer Company in Olde Town in October 2011.

The brewery will also begin canning two of its beers, Goldline IPA and Water Tower Wheat, sometime within the next three months, pending label approval. "Those are the two best sellers by far," Floyd says.

Arvada Beer will use the services of Longmont's Mobile Canning LLC, which hauls its canning line to small breweries across the state so that they don't have to buy the equipment themselves. Some of the company's current clients include Renegade Brewing, Crabtree Brewing, Boulder Beer Company and Bonfire Brewing.

Two other small brewers, River North Brewery in Denver and Big Choice Brewing in Broomfield, plan to begin packaging with Mobile Canning this spring or summer.

If sales are strong, Arvada Beer will probably install an additional two fifteen-barrel fermenters within the next six months, Floyd says.
