Reader: Park Meadows could use some new restaurants

grand lux again.jpg
The idea for Grand Lux Cafe came to life when the Venetian Resort, Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas asked David Overton, founder of the Cheesecake Factory chain, to create an upscale casual restaurant concept for their property. But what happened in Vegas should have stayed in Vegas -- or at least out of Park Meadows, where Grand Lux closed last week after five years.

There's still a Cheesecake Factory in Park Meadows, near Dillard's. And that restaurant definitely beats Grand Lux, says one reader.

Well, crud. I am sorry to see them go. I always preferred Grand Lux to Cheesecake Factory because the wait was reasonable and the food was always pretty good. Park Meadows really could use some more new restaurants that aren't fast food and don't require figuring out two hours in advance when you're going to be hungry.

According to the Park Meadows website, the mall (inside or out) still has Brio Tuscan Grille, California Pizza Kitchen, Champps, Cru a Wine Bar, Earl's, La Sandia, P.F. Chang's, Red Robin, Thai Basil, White Chocolate Grill and two restaurant/pubs in Nordstrom's -- as well as two pretzel stores.

And that's in addition to the dining hall lineup, which includes Ben & Jerry's, Cajun & Grill, Charley's Grilled Subs, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen/Orange Julius, Mrs. Field, Panda Express, Renzios, Saj Mediterranean Grill, Sbarro, Squeeze, Starbucks, Subway and Wasabi Jane.

Given that restaurant roster, what would you like to see go into Park Meadows? Post your suggestions below.

Don't forget that Frank Bonanno is Bonanno Brothers Pizzeria within the next month or so, and it sounds fantastic.  Saj in the food court is a great middle eastern quick-service place.  It's a local two-store chain (there's one a Southglenn too) that's infinitely better than Garbanzo.  La Sandia is fine too, but yeah I'd be fine with it if everything else closed.

Given that I would like to see Puke Meadows demolished, nothing.

@davebarnes

I agree.  Just level Park Meadows shopping center and the surrounding areas and be done with it.
