Denverites love their barbecue -- even if great barbecue can be tough to find in this city. Boney's, which won our Best BBQ in the Best of Denver 2013, used to have a cart at Writer's Square, but closed that in order to focus on its newly expanded restaurant on Champa. This past Monday, a new barbecue cart -- Tommy's Bodacious BBQ -- showed up at the old Boney's cart location, but Tommy's has already moved to 17th and Curtis streets, where it's doing a smoking business.

The bodacious Tommy's slogan? "Where there's smoke, there's flavor." Hungry yet? Keep reading to see photos of Tommy's, and then head downtown to try the barbecue at lunch.

These guys are the real deal... their food is exceptional, they're so fun to talk to, great all around business.  After chatting with the brothers running the cart-besides wolfing down several of their unbelievably good pulled pork sandwiches-it's obvious that Tommy's Bodacious BBQ takes pride in its ingredients, recipes, and customer satisfaction.  Stoked that they cater too!

I've worked at an office building on 18th and Curtis for 5 years now and I couldn't be more sick of the food choices within walking distance.  I've tried all the restaurants and food carts in the area and have never been impressed.  I begun dreading having to decide what bland or chain food restaurant I was going to eat for lunch.  I was delighted to find Bodacious BBQ and was absolutely blown away by the pulled pork sandwiches and delicious homemade BBQ sauce.  The two people working the stand were very polite and a joy to talk to while they were toasting the buns for my sandwich.  I would definitely recommend Bodacious BBQ to anyone around the area or any BBQ lovers!

Yum! Had pulled pork sandwiches yesterday while we chatted with the cute owner. Really yummy! To the previous post, yes they have the dogs, but really you should order the pork.

Tommy's catered our company picnic, their BBQ is awesome!! Glad to see their BBQ is downtown now too!

Either this photo story is terrible, or this guy is selling hot dogs with ketchup, mustard, and the standard everything else, not exactly BBQ in my mind. If you want to see real BBQ, come down to Denver Beer Co on opening day before the game.

Man, nothin' whets the appetite more than a photo of some nitrile exam gloves and dirty kitchen tongs.

@robot_joe a little arrogant to completely knock it down before trying it, wouldn't you say?  I find it hard to judge the quality of pulled pork and hot link by looking at these pics, but thats just me.  'standard everything else' - tsk.  Sounds like your knowledge of condiments doesn't expand beyond ketchup and mustard! For those of you who aren't so narrow minded - I've had Tommys Bodacious, and it certainly is BODACIOUS
