Euclid Hall salad -- no meat here!
While some people puzzle over the readers' pick for Best Fried Chicken, Leah wants to know the specific dish readers voted for when they awarded Euclid Hall the prize for Best Vegetarian Dish in a Non-Vegetarian Restaurant. "They have pretty much nothing vegetarian on their menu," she writes, "so if I'm missing something, I'd like to know."

While readers didn't note on their ballots which veggie dishes they like at Euclid Hall, we found an expert to help out.

Restaurant consultant John Imbergamo works closely with sibling restaurants Rioja, Bistro Vendome and Euclid Hall -- and he also happens to be a vegetarian.

So he's putting his mouth where his money is when he recommends the following at Euclid Hall: Spaghetti and "meat" balls, fried cheddar curds and wild mushroom poutine. Here are their descriptions from the menu, along with a few recommendations of our own.

Fried Cheddar Curds, Buffalo ranch $6.00

Wild Mushroom Poutine, hand-cut French fries, melted Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds, porcini gravy, cheddar curds $9.00

Spaghetti & "Meat" Balls, mushroom croquette, roasted-pulled spaghetti squash, blistered tomato, Pecorino crouton, oregano $7.00

Roasted Caulifower Salad, Haystack goat cheese, shishito pepper marmalade, scallions, tempura crunchies $7.50

Euclid Chopped Salad, baby lettuce, cucumber, red onion, grape tomatoes, sunflower seeds, roasted garlic-lime-soy vinaigrette, Pecorino Romano $6.50

Lemon & Coriander Spätzle, sautéed crisp, seasonal flora, honey mustard chèvre, mint $5.00

Very cool.  I too don't think of Euclid Hall as being very vegetarian friendly, but apparently that's my mistake.  I look forward to dragging my veggie friends there and surprising them too.
