Zagat includes Colorado in two must-try national lists

Categories: Cafe Society

Zagat stroked the Rocky Mountain Oysters at Buckhorn Exchange.
Zagat recently released guides to both the fifty best plates of food and the best sources of caffeine in the country, and Denver makes both lists -- rightfully so. The legendary Buckhorn Exchange, 1000 Osage Street, earns a nod for its classic Rocky Mountain Oysters, and Stella's Coffeehaus, 1476 South Pearl Street, fields praise for its ambience and locally roasted coffee.

Wynkoop Brewing Company also receives a mention for its ballsy beer version of Rocky Mountain oysters -- the Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout, in which bull testicles have steeped.

Zagat is out of touch and their survey is inactive.

@Jonny Hamel I don't know much about Zagat, but their choices here seem pretty weird.  There's tons of great stuff going on in the Denver food scene, so focusing almost entirely on Rocky Mountain oysters as the reason to check out the scene seems pretty lazy and inaccurate.  Maybe 20 years ago RM oysters were the most interesting thing in town, but now - not so much.
