The future home of Denver's Trader Joe's.
While King Soopers has pulled out of the project set for the former University of Colorado Health Sciences Center at Ninth and Colorado Boulevard, last month construction got under way on the first Trader Joe's in Denver -- just down the street. A second Trader Joe's is going into Boulder, but this one on Colorado Boulevard will get the single liquor license available in Colorado. Denver's 18,000 square-foot store is slated to open before the end of the year.

And Trader Joe's can't open a second too soon, say fans salivating over Lori Midson's list of 23 trending items available in California stores.

Says Stacey:

Without Trader Joe's, we have not really been living, just surviving.

I moved here from Northern Virginia where I had a Trader Joe's (as well as three other grocery stores) within a mile of my house. I miss it but didn't realize how much until skimming these photos!

Have you shopped at Trader Joe's? What has Denver been missing?
