Breweries bring out red saisons and red fruits for the July 4 holiday
River North Brewery revealed this week that it has signed on with C.R. Goodman to distribute its beer throughout Colorado. The brewery, founded eighteen months ago, had been distributing its beer to liquor stores in Denver, but needed help to get it to stores in other parts of the state. Full Front Range availability is expected by August; the beers will also be in select markets and locations statewide.

The Rackhouse Pub has deemed July Sour Month, and will tap numerous sours every day at 5 p.m. from the likes of Avery, Crooked Stave, New Belgium, AC Golden, Elevation, Dry Dock and more. Today's kickoff features three single barrels of Dry Dock's Sour Swabby. "Having all three on tap side-by-side presents a rare opportunity to taste and compare the unique differences of the same beer aged in three separate oak barrels," the brewery says. "The original beer was a Belgian Quad that was brewed September 5, 2011. It was then transferred to identical American oak wine barrels and inoculated with lactic acid bacteria after the initial fermentation." Go to their website to see the list of tappings all month long.
Strange Brewing will tap Watermelon Heffe today as part of its weekly one-barrel Wednesday series of unusual or experimental beers. Strange opens at 3 p.m.

Black Shirt Brewing will release two new beers today at 5 p.m. The first is 2013 BSB Bitter|Track #1, a summer session ale, which was designed to be "a perfect blend of English yeast and hops and American barley and rye." The second is 2013 Red Saison|Track #2, a new version of BSB's Red Saision, which has Summit and Glacier hops "that bring a bright orange and tangerine aroma with a hint of pear and apricot to the beer." Both beers should be on tap for at least a few weeks.
