DIA adds another Einstein Bros. -- and yes, the airport Elway's has knives

The update of food offerings at Denver International Airport continues -- although the latest addition isn't quite as glitzy as Elway's, which joined the lineup last month (more on that below). A second Einstein Bros. Bagels is now open in the main terminal, serving bagels, snack and sandwiches from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Boston Market (formerly known as Boston Chicken) created Einstein's Bros. Bagels in 1995 as a way to market breakfast food. The company quickly expanded and took over small bagel shops left and right, along with sister chains Noah's New York Bagels and Manhattan Bagel. Einstein Bros. Bagels is now owned by Einstein and Noah Corp. and based in metro Denver; there are more than 600 locations in 40 states.

The next restaurant group slated to open a spot at DIA is much smaller -- and more eclectic. Root Down will open an offshoot at the airport next month. And watch for an outpost from Steve's Snappin' Dog's early in 2014. In the meantime, enjoy this Yelp thread about upcoming Root Down and the Elway's at DIA.

For the record, Elway's does have steak knives -- TSA loosened the rules just in time.

Not impressive. DIA has the worst food choices of any airport that I frequent. I never thought that I'd fly into Atlanta and feel like I was in heaven.
