Here's the most promising sign we've seen all month: A Dunkin' Donuts is being constructed in the 400 block of Broadway. If all goes according to plan, the store will open in mid-September.

Will Denver go for this doughnut chain? Should be a slam-dunk!

Dunkin' Donuts was hugely popular until the franchise withdrew support for franchisees. I remember the store on South Colorado: always crowded.

This will be a great break from the occasional grease bomb from Lamar's, and Winchell's further down Broadway can't be counted on for freshness. I think just about everyone's underwhelmed by the sight of Krispy Kreme.

Now can we get CRONUTS (croissant-donuts that are the foodie freak-out of New York)?

How far down are you on the White Trash food chain, when you get excited about a chain doughnut restaurant?

Ah, crap, that's walking distance. I guess there are a lot more donuts in my future....

@mcjesus You really think DD is better than Lamars?!?!  Seriously, you are better off getting doughnuts at King Soopers than at DD.

@WillieStortz Thanks, Willie -- more DD coffee for me! If you grew up on the East Coast, you'd know that DD is consistently rated "Best Coffee" against even the small mom-and-pop shops. SO much better than the bitter-burned Starbucks crap.
As for the donuts, well, KK kicks their butt. Both, though, are far better than Winchells.
So keep going to your local "donut" shop, and leave the good stuff to us. You, and your high-brow 'wannabe-Gatsby' attitude, won't be missed!

@WillieStortz   ... I bet you love starbucks, the over priced glorified donut-coffee shop chain.  Even if you don't I'm sure you would't call their customers white trash.  I don't know much about dunkin but if a tim horton's or krispy kreme's opened up near me i'd be thrilled so I guess you'd call me white trash too.  Their donuts are way better than the majority of the crap local donut shops in my area.

@candid @mcjesus Yes, I do, and that's my opinion. Can't you express yours without stepping on others?

@mcjesus @WillieStortz To make fun of fat, dumb people who think chain made doughnuts are the height culinary existance.... Duh.

What's the point of living if you can't make fun of the lesser people?

@Michael564 @WillieStortz There you go Michael564 some folks just can't understand.  WiIlie is probably from Boulder and will only drink a pour over while riding his fixed gear bicycle to look at the foundation of the new Trader Joe's while expounding over the miniscule variations  of IPA's the newest nano-breweries have released in the last 4 days.

@GuestWho @WillieStortz You are correct. If the thought of a Krispy Kreme opening in your neighborhood gets you wet, then yes I would call you white trash.

The fact that you eat Krispy Kreme or Tim Hortons over a locally made product make you a white trash asshole.
