Tiny De Steeg Brewing, which makes beers much bigger than its alley-entryway space near the corner of 44th Avenue and Lowell Street, sold its first keg of beer to an off-premise account this week: Ernie's Pizza, which is located not far away on 44th and Federal Boulevard, is now serving De Steeg's French Saison on tap. Grab a pint.

Strange Brewing will tap a Belgian Porter today as part of its one-barrel Wednesday series.

River North Brewery will feature BPR fermented with ESB yeast as part of its weekly Wayward Wednesday series. First pour is at 3 p.m.

Beerporium, producers of the Brewery Passport and Journal and the Colorado Craft Breweries Poster, will launch its first pop-up store from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wit's End Brewing. Beerporium will sell its product for $1 off and give Passport holders a special event stamp in addition to the everyday benefit of Wit's End's own brewery stamp and free flight. The Brewery Passport and Journal gives people a way to document their beer travels.

Saturday, July 20

Hops & Pie will host a special edition of its monthly Littlest Big Beer Fest today with a lineup featuring only wild and sour beers. Denver's Littlest Big Wild & Sour Fest, which starts at noon, features flights and single pours of rare and specially produced sour and wild beers from Crooked Stave, New Belgium, Paradox, Avery, Odell, Funkwerks, the Bruery, Grand Teton Brewing, Boulevard and Russian River.

Copper Kettle Brewing will host an all-Colorado beer festival tonight in conjunction with its second "A Night to Remember" event paying tribute to victims of the Aurora theater shootings on July 20, 2012. One of victims, Alex Teves, was a regular at Copper Kettle. The festival runs from 4 to 8 p.m. and features beer from eleven Colorado breweries, along with four food trucks and two bands. Tickets are $40, and 100 percent of the ticket sales, along with proceeds from the silent auction, will be donated to the ACT Foundation and Phoenix 999. The breweries on hand are Caution Brewing, City Star Brewing, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project, Great Divide, Elk Mountain Brewing, Grimm Brothers Brewhouse, Hogshead, Prost Brewing, Renegade, River North and Wit's End.

The organizers behind the Biennial of the Americas will host Craft Urbanism: Beer Gardens in the City, an arty "pop-up" event along Cherry Creek that ties Denver's cityscape to its well-known suds-scape. Four Denver breweries -- Strange, Great Divide, Wynkoop and Denver Beer Co (which will pour its Maya Nut Brown, the official beer of the Biennial) -- will be serving beer from 4 to 8 p.m. along the Wynkoop Pedestrian Bridge on 14th between Wynkoop and Wazee streets; and in the alley between the Cherry Creek Bike Trail and 15th Street. Beers cost $4 each.

Sunday, July 18

The Millennium Harvest House Hotel in Boulder (along with the West End Tavern) will host a Jul-IPA festival today from 1 to 6 p.m., featuring IPAs from 28 different breweries. There will be food from W.E.T BBQ and live music from the Goonies, along with a wings-eating challenge (fifty wings in thirty minutes; fastest eater wins). Tickets are $40 for unlimited tasters and a BBQ plate. Proceeds benefit Safe House Boulder, a nonprofit committed to ending violence against adults, youth and children.
