Cinque Soldi Salumeria, the Italian deli and market that was originally co-owned by Denver meat man Mark DeNittis (who left the restaurant last year), has shuttered; the space is now slated to become Aiko Pops, a gourmet popsicle shop, Denver Eater reports.

The closure is just the latest action on a stretch of South Pearl Street that has been very, very busy over the past few years. Most recently, Izakaya Den opened the doors of its new, multi-level structure at 1477 South Pearl Street after a year of construction. Uno Mas Cantina Y Taqueria is slated to open this summer in the former home of Budapest Bistro at 1585 South Pearl Street.

And the Breckenridge-Wynkoop group is already working on the new concept that it will open this fall in the original home of Izakaya Den, at 1518 South Pearl Street.

Stay tuned to Cafe Society for more South Pearl action.
