Chef Ian Kleinman of the Inventing Room is spearheading a Willy Wonka-themed dinner at Roth Distributing, 17801 East 40th Avenue in Aurora, this evening at 6:30 p.m. The seven-course dinner is the latest collaboration from the Denver Five (Matt Selby, Brian Laird, Ian Kleinman, Sean Yontz and Jorel Pierce) and costs $75; visit the website to view the menu and to purchase tickets. Jax, 650 South Colorado Boulevard, is hosting its first wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. tonight, featuring Sineann Winery of Oregon. The four-course dinner -- courtesy of chefs Duane Walker and Sheila Lucero -- costs $55 per person; call 303.756.6449 to RSVP.
Frasca Food and Wine, 1738 Pearl Street Boulder, has invited Winemaker Louisa Lindquist of Qupe Vineyards in Santa Barbara, California, for its Monday wine dinner series. The four-course dinner costs $50, with additional charges for pairings; call 303-442-6966 for reservations.
Tuesday, July 16:
Coohills, 1400 Wewatta Street, begins its Beats on the Creek summer concert series this evening with a performance by Under the Blood Red Sky. The music will sound off every Tuesday on the restaurant's patio -- and the adjacent bridge over Cherry Creek -- at 6 p.m. through August. Trillium, 2134 Larimer Street, continues its monthly, Scandinavian-themed dinner series. Tonight's four-course, paired menu is inspired by the cuisine of Denmark. Admission is $65, and there will rolling seatings, but space is limited; call 303.379.9759 to check availability.
Civic Center Eats rolls on at Civic Center Park. The food-truck fest lands at the park at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays through September 26 (with the exception of August 29 and September 3). The movable feast, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., features live music in addition to food and other vendors; check the website for the full schedule of both trucks and entertainment.
