Pride of Philly hits the streets of Denver with authentic cheesesteaks

Born into a family that owned a deli in Philadelphia, Jason Delp knew exactly what a true cheesesteak tasted like -- and when he moved to Denver, he couldn't find one. "I wanted people to experience cheesesteak the way that I had it growing up -- made with ribeye and smothered in Cheez Whiz and sautéed onions," Delp explains. So he finally took matters into his own hands, and left the corporate world to start his own food truck, Pride of Philly.

"I have always wanted to work in the food industry, but not until recently did I have the guts to do it," Delp admits. "But it is going really well! A food truck is perfect, because I get to go out and meet tons of great people everyday."

And serve them a taste of the East Coast, including cheesesteaks, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, brats, Italian roast pork and a recent addition: the Sicilian, a patty made of half ground beef, half Italian sausage and stuffed with sharp provolone cheese. Possible sandwich toppings include sautéed onions, mushrooms, spinach, bell peppers and sauerkraut, along with Cheez Whiz, American cheese, bleu cheese and sharp provolone.

Delp has been hitting the brewery circuit with Pride of Philly: Copper Kettle on Tuesday night, Our Mutual Friend on Wednesday night, River North Brewery on Thursday, and Mile High Spirits on Sunday. Today you can find Delp at
Prost lunch, and Wit's End at night.

Are the rolls from Amoroso?  That's just as important as the ribeye and Whiz.

I was disappointed he was out of the Chicken last night, so I had the italian roast pork instead. Great stuff!
