World of Beer, the Florida-based bar chain that focuses on craft beer, will open is second Denver-area location on August 12 in Belmar, at 7260 West Alaska Drive. The company unveiled its first spot, in the City Set development in Glendale, last May, and plans to open several more locations in Colorado over the next year or so.

"This is one of the meccas for craft beer in the country, if not the mecca for it," says Neill Boyd, who moved from Tampa Bay to Denver in February to become the general manager of World of Beer Belmar. "It was a great opportunity to be a part of it."

The 2,500-square-foot location will feature a 1,000-square-foot patio along with fifty rotating taps and 500 bottles, all of them U.S. craft beers or imports.

"There aren't a lot of craft beer options in Lakewood or Belmar even," Boyd says. "We will carry a little bit of everything. That keeps everybody happy."

Each World of Beer location - and there are 45 in several states -- chooses its own selection, and Boyd says the beers depend on what people in the area want to drink. "Each community is unique, so we kind of knock it out location by location."

World of Beer Belmar will hold a soft opening on August 12 involving a Facebook party. There will also be live music and a loyalty night that week. Check out the bar's Facebook page for more information and details. The opening night beer list is below:

Its a chain, from Florida; buy local. Colorado craft beer places are all over the city now !

Someone explain to me why this place is better than Yard House.  It seems to me WoB has most of its beers in bottles, while YH has many, many more on tap.

@wewatta because world of beer actually rotates an interesting selection all the time. The Cherry Creek location works with local nano-breweries as well. I am sure this one will too eventually too. World of beer = 10 times better than Yardhouse. The prices and selection are night and day better at WOB. I was cynical myself it would be another bland Yardhouse chain, was pleasantly surprised it is not. Yardhouse somehow amazingly accomplishes filling 110 taps with the most generic and typical selection you can find.
