Win two free seats to an EatDenver Harvest Week dinner! (Winner update)
We have a winner of our EatDenver Harvest Week contest, in which we asked Cafe Society readers to answer this question: How many heads of lettuce does the GrowHaus harvest in a week? Congratulations to mini_d, who guessed 1,000 heads of lettuce, which is the exact number. Mini_d, we'll send you an e-mail with info about how to claim your prize.
Original post: Harvest Week, a series of super-cool, seasonally-inspired, family-style pop-up dinners (and one blowout brunch) takes root on Sunday and continues through September 27 at the GrowHaus, an indoor urban farm and marketplace. The week-long homage to Colorado's bumper crop is the creation of EatDenver, whose core includes a bundle of Denver's best independent restaurants, and Harvest Week, one of the group's annual signature culinary events, is one of the season's must-attend shindigs. Several of the dinners have sold out, but a few tickets still remain for two of the feasts: the Platte River Luau and Pig Roast (Wednesday, September 25) and the Rocky Mountain Grapes vs. Grains Showdown (Thursday, September 26).
And you can win two free seats to one of those dinners.
The luau and pig roast features foodstuffs from Lola, Row 14, D-Bar Desserts, ChoLon, Jonesy's Eat Bar and Adelita's Cocina Y Cantina, in addition to craft cocktails, beers from Epic Brewing and Bookcliff Vineyard wines, while the Rocky Mountain Showdown, which will challenge winemakers and brewers to pick perfect pairings, highlights dishes from Slotted Spoon, Vine Street Pub, Lucky Pie, Lala's Wine Bar, Avenue Grill and Carmine's on Penn.
You can choose which dinner you want to attend, but in order to be in the running, you'll need to answer this question: How many heads of lettuce does the GrowHaus harvest in a week?
To enter, please submit your best guess, along with your name and a valid e-mail address (if you're already registered with MyVoiceNation, then we have your e-mail; if you're not, then we don't, and without an e-mail address, you can't win) in the comments section below. The person who comes the closest to the actual number without going over, will win.
If you don't win our contest, you can still purchase tickets (they're $75 each) at eatdenver.com/community/overview/harvest-week/.
We'll announce the winner on Tuesday, September 24 by 5 p.m.
