This city is about to start rolling in dough! On Tuesday, Denverites will finally be able to dip into Dunkin' Donuts. At long last, the beloved East Coast institution will have a stand-alone store in the metro area (there are already three in Colorado Springs): The spot at 366 Broadway is set to open at 5 a.m. September 24.

The shop is owned by father-and-son team Brad and Buzz Calkins (yes, Buzz is the famous race-car driver); they're slated to open a dozen Dunkin' Donuts stores in the metro area over the next five years.

And that's not counting the 24-hour Dunkin' Donuts that will open next Tuesday morning at Final Approach, the new waiting area outside of Denver International Airport.

That facility by the Conoco will have three other eateries, as well as free Wi-Fi service, a children's seating area with iPads built into tables, flight information display boards...and indoor bathrooms! Watch for updates next week.

Very disappointing experience. They were out of vanilla cream donuts. Apparently, it sold out, but they only make more of certain donuts. Umm, if something is so popular it runs out fast wouldn't you make more of that donut? I was So sad. I've waited so long for a vanilla cream. It's all I wanted. :'(

Boulder used to have a Dunks.  It closed and the space turned into a coffee shop and then a medical marijuana dispensary.  Kind of describes Boulder in a nutshell, actually.

Having grown up in the northeast with Dunks on every corner, I don't think this development is worth much excitement.  Their donuts are fair-to-mediocre (the apple fritters are good, as are the boston creme if they're fresh), their coffee is overrated, and their non-donut food is downright nasty.

@monopod /\ what an aweful opinion /\ ... I hate that the minority review is the one people will see first, this "monopods" review is in the 1%... there's a reason why Dunkins is so successful, Dunkins coffee is the best quick cup of coffee in the nation, their donuts are good, and the breakfast sandwiches and other food are great and outsell every other breakfast chain in the country.

@DukeG19 @monopod By that logic, McDonald's must have the best hamburger in the country, since they're so popular.  I stand by my opinion, and I'm pretty sure it's not going to prevent anyone from checking them out and forming their own opinion.
