Gretchen Kurtz loved the pizzas at the quick-serve, fast-casual Denver outpost of Pizzeria Locale, which she reviewed six weeks ago -- and she found the prices ridiculously reasonable given the high quality of the food. Now those prices are even more reasonable: As of today, Locale's contemporary, Neapolitan-style pizzas are dropping in price -- but not size or quality, the owners promise.

Will Frasca's dough boys get a pizza the fast-casual action?

For example, two of the restaurant's most popular styles -- the Mais (mozzarella, crème fraîche, ham, corn and garlic) and the Maiale (red sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto and arugula) -- will go from $8.50 per pizza to $7.75. The menu will also consolidate the pizzas into one list, from "Neapolitan Classics" and "American Classics" into a simple list of classic pizzas.

According to Bobby Stuckey, co-owner of this restaurant as well as the original Pizzeria Locale in Boulder (not to mention Frasca Food and Wine), the menu change is the direct result of realizing that Pizzeria Locale's Denver store can reduce its prices and still offer the exact same product across the board.
